Improving HAE Patient Care through an Interactive Patient Simulation Platform
This activity is intended for allergists, primary care physicians, emergency department physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals who may encounter patient with hereditary angioedema.
The goal of this activity is to increase the awareness as well as the understanding of hereditary angioedema by having the clinician virtually manage a patient with undiagnosed HAE 1) who presents to the emergency department with an acute facial swelling, and 2) in the follow-up of the patient once discharged from the hospital.
- Describe how to differentiate between an acute attack of hereditary angioedema compared with allergic angioedema
- Outline a practice plan for managing a patient who presents with acute laryngeal angioedema
- Give examples of HAE-specific medications that could be used to manage an acute attack

Once information is received by NABP, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to log in and access information about completed CPE activities.
